Man who raped a 13 year old girl is finally given a jail term of 26 years imprisonment
After all, the proverbial saying that quotes "99 days for the theif, 1 day for the owner" has been the case of a young man named Yinusa Dahiru who abducted a 13 year old girl, Ese Oruru, in 2015. The man took her away to Kano State where she was later rescued in the palace of the Emir of Kano.
the Federal High Court in Yenagoa has sentenced the abductor to 26 years in prison
Yunusa who was arrested was arraigned at the Federal High Court Yenagoa in charge No FHC/YNG/17c/2016 on a five-count charge of criminal abduction, illicit sex, sexual exploitation and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor.
Delivering her judgement, on Thursday, 22nd of May, Justice Jane Inyang, sentenced Yunusa to five years in prison for illicit sex, seven years in prison for sexual exploitation ,and the remaining years for unlawful carnal knowledge and human trafficking, noting that the prison terms are to be served consecutively.
Yunusa, who appeared in court in handcuffs in a green and white shirt and bathroom slippers, broke down in court after the sentencing, and murmured that he was “treated this way because he is a Muslim”.
