El Rufai: Nigeria economy is falling into depression


Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said Nigeria’s economy is going into a state of depression.

The governor said all the states are presently dealing with very difficult situation as they battle COVID-19 pandemic.

“The economy is going to go into depression; there is nothing we can do about that; revenues have collapsed; yet you still have to invest in more public health facilities.

“Most of the leaders have to invest in treatment despite the condition and weighed to invest in security.”

“This time is a very difficult time to be in a leadership position and that is why the people and the leaders must all work together and pray for God to end this Coronavirus pandemic.

"It is a major problem, but we are working together." He said.

Breaking! Nigerian troops rescue 241 women and children from Boko Haram captivity (photos)

Troops attached to Sector 1 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have rescued 241 kidnapped victims from Boko Haram captivity in Mudu village in Borno state. A statement released by the Defence headquarters today May 28, says the kidnapped victims were rescued during an operation on May 23. The rescued victims comprises of 105 women and 136 children. The statement adds that Twelve (12) Boko Haram terrorists were killed during the operation. In a related development, troops of 151 Battalion on May 24 killed three more sect members during a crossfire in Firgi area in the state.  In the same vein, troops of the 155 Battalion Banki Junction carried out exploitation operation towards Sambisa forest in pursuit of fleeing BHTs. The dogged efforts of the troops yielded uncommon success as two (2) terrorists dead bodies, heavy cache of assorted arms, ammunition and other equipment were recovered. BREAKING: Lagos discharges seven coronavirus patients Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos providing update on coronavirus The Lagos State Government has announced the discharge of seven coronavirus patients in the state after they tested negative twice to the virus. This takes the total number of persons discharged to 51 in Nigeria.
