Reasons why your kitchen might be smelling
Well if this article doesn't catch your attention, I don't know what will.
As bizarre as it may sound, there's often this particular odour that we perceive in the kitchen from time to time but then we think it's the dustbin and even after taking that out, our problem still isn't solved.
As we go further with the article, I'll show you some reasons why your kitchen might be smelling.
1. DUSTBIN
Now I know I said it might not necessarily be the bin that's the cause of the smell, but there's every possibility that it's the cause because that's where every used item is dumped after use and if after a day it isn't put outside, the smell might just get worse.
So let's do both ourselves a favour and take them out every day.
2. CLEAN EVERY HIDDEN CORNER
It's always necessary to do this ones in a while to get the dirt out especially if you've put rat poison there and have refused or forgotten to take them out.
Try as much as possible to clean hidden corners such as behind the fridge and freezer, the kitchen cabinet and gas cooker.
3. SPOILT FOOD
This is self explanatory already. Your yam tubers might be decaying on the inside can cause a smell or spoilt pepper, tomatoe or any other item in the fridge.
4. CHECK YOUR SINK PIPE
I usually have issues with this one. When your sink doesn't have a filter, food particles goes down the drainage when washing plates and begins to pile up in the pipe. Now with due time, you'll begin to notice that it takes time for your water to drain out after washing plate or worse still it doesn't drain out at all.
A quick solution to this is to insert a broom stick inside the sink hole and try pushing out as much dirts as you can. Or if your sink pipe can be removed, pull the base out and make sure you put a bowl or bucket directly under so you don't mess up your kitchen. With this position and you inserting the broom inside the sink hole, it might just work.
5. YOUR MOP OR RAG
This can be a very great contribution and problem to that stink. A dirty or damp rag or mop in the kitchen should be quickly washed and taken outside to dry under the sun.
It might seem crazy but it can actually be the one thing thought that escapes your mind. The rag or mop doesn't necessarily need to be wet before it starts smelling but when it hasn't been washed in a long time can also be a cause.
